Example of my failed project with Sharetribe and Revit
Each years I have a lot of unsuccessful projects, for example look to list of my failed project in previous year List of my small freelance project 2023, in this year I also have a lot of failed project, this is description of one of them.
Some guy decide to sell own drawings with Sharetribe, cool idea isn't it? There are full documentation for Sharetribe docs, api, why no?
This guy prepare hige description on Figma how this Revit plugin must be working:
I try to estimate volume of this job and receive result: this description contains 155 forms with 1008 links and buttons.
Ups !!! I thought, what a huge order to job and a rich client !
We need to work not only with difficult Sharetribe API, but with huge and sophisticated Revit API Revit_API, this is long time job with thousands working time hours. Isn't it? 155 forms with two strong sophisticated API with thousands description of page.
Therefore I decide to create demo application for one evening to attract client.
I have installed Revit Trial to my computer, because without reference to library is impossible to create pluging project.
Than I add reference to my test project.
And receive first troubles, RevitUI don't contains any public elements!
Interesting, I thought, any documentation describe exactly the same way, maybe my idea with demo failed, but can we firstly reach finally agreement about price of this job? Even without Demo project.
And I connected with customer and try discussing price of this job (155 form, what must be working with two huge difficult API). And can you imagine answer of this customer?
He expected price about $100 !!! Whats idiot !!!
This is freelance job, my friends. This type of job collected all internet idiots to one pool.
Who is mentally retarded degenerate? Usually this is person what draw in Figma millions dollar software and than expect to make this software for $100.
